5 Reasons to visit Samana<\/h1>\n

Saman\u00e1 (Santa B\u00e1rbara de Saman\u00e1) is a municipality on the Saman\u00e1 peninsula, in the northeast of the Dominican Republic. There are many reasons to visit this little paradise of only 863 km2. We are going to give you only 5.<\/h5>\n

1.- Saman\u00e1 Bay<\/h3>\n

There thousands of humpback whales flock during the winter mating season, between January and March. It is estimated that every year they travel between 3,000 and 3,500 Humpback whales to mate in the Bay of Saman\u00e1. The songs of the males to attract the females can be heard from a radius of 30 kilometers, and their jumps impress the visitors.<\/h5>\n
Nearby, there is the main attraction of the Whale Museum: a giant whale skeleton.<\/h5>\n
